Two tributaries that were running too high to fish productively have pulled back into their optimal ranges as of Sunday evening, May 3. If you can get out Monday or early in the week, conditions look reasonable on both systems.

Conneaut Creek dropped from 525 cfs to 337 cfs over the past 18 hours and is now just inside its upper optimal window of 150–350 cfs. Clarity is clear and water temperature is sitting at 52°F — a comfortable range for moving fish. It is worth noting that 337 cfs puts it right at the ceiling, so any additional rain could push it back out. Keep an eye on the gauge before you make the drive.

Cazenovia Creek came down from 278 cfs to 219 cfs and is comfortably within its 100–250 cfs optimal band. Clarity is also clear, though no temperature reading is available at this time.

Neither river has a current user rating, so reports from anyone fishing these systems this week would be genuinely useful. Check the gauges the morning you plan to go — both dropped quickly and could move again.
