Spoons are the foundation

A 3/4 to 1 oz Daredevle, Eppinger, or Acme Kastmaster spoon is the single most reliable pike lure. Red-and-white, gold, and chartreuse cover most situations. Cast across structure, retrieve with a sweep-pause cadence.

Inline spinners for cover

A #5 or #6 inline spinner (Mepps Aglia, Panther Martin, Blue Fox) rips through weeds and triggers reflex strikes. Use bucktail-tipped models for bigger profile.

Wire leaders are non-negotiable
