Uni Knot
A versatile knot for terminal tackle, braid, and adjustable loops. If you learn one knot family, make it this one.
The Uni is less a knot and more a family business. Terminal knot, line connection, bobber stop, loop variant - it keeps showing up with a different hat on. Learn the basic wrap-and-cinch motion and half the knot library suddenly stops looking like tax paperwork.
How to tie it
-
1
Run the tag end through the hook eye and lay it alongside the standing line.
-
2
Form a loop by turning the tag end back toward the hook.
-
3
Wrap the tag around both lines inside the loop 5 to 7 times.
-
4
Wet the wraps and pull the tag end to form a compact coil.
-
5
Slide the coil down to the hook eye by pulling the standing line.
-
6
Snug firmly and trim the tag.
